If you have space in your dining room, having a sideboard is very practical and can add a touch of chic to your dinner parties. They are usually used to hold the dishes as you serve them, and often offer storage, such as shelves for dinnerware, wine bottles or linens. Often not very deep, sideboards need little room, can come in handy when serving, and complement the dining room furniture — either by forming part of the same set, or being bought on its own for character and style. They are made of all kinds of wood, sometimes with a marble or stainless steel top.
