A side board, also known as a buffet, is a chest with drawers and a flat top to serve a buffet meal. It can be placed wherever a meal is served to guests or family. The cabinets can store the routinely used crockery and cutlery. You can either buy different side boards for different rooms, or one with a trolley that can move from your kitchen to your dining room or from your hallway to your living room.
Side boards are ideally made of wood, as wood is the best material for drawers. Apart from the functional aspect, there are ones with artistic detailing on their edges, knobs and handles. Today, a side board can double up as a bar or can even be used to house a stereo sound system.
