If you are short on space in your home, or just looking for a lot more storage space, you can put your hall chests into double duty rotation. First, you can use them to store out of season clothing, freeing up closet space, for instance. Another option is to use the hall chest as a table in the hall way, adding a small lamp and other items to be a beautiful accent piece as well as functional illumination. Depending on the length of the hallway, your hall chest might also work as a catch all table as your family passes by – opt for using small baskets for each person so that they can park all of their belongings on the way in or out of the house.
